K-netizens react to an alleged pre-debut photo of RIIZE's Sohee at a 'hunting bar'

Along with the official introduction of all three "hidden" members of SM Entertainment's new 7-member rookie boy group RIIZE, numerous past, pre-debut photos of the soon-to-debut idols are flooding various K-Pop online communities.

Of the three newly revealed RIIZE members, a select few involving member Sohee have become a heated topic of discussion.

According to K-netizens, a photo of Sohee and one of his friends (below) was taken at a "hunting bar" in Ansan. Also known as "hunting pochas" or "solo pochas", these establishments are known to market not only food and drinks, but also the potential "hook up" with other minglers.

In another pre-debut photo, Sohee was seen posing outside the gate at Siheung Neunggok Elementary School with a group of his friends.

What garnered attention was the commentary allegedly left by on the Instagram post, "Our [damn] starting place". (Here, the comment is a play on the word '시발점' [shi-bal-jeom] which means "starting point", by switching out the 'shi-' for 'ssi-' to combine the Korean curse word 'ssi-bal' with 'shi-bal-jeom'.) It is believed that the Instagram post belongs to a friend, not Sohee himself.

RIIZE Sohee’s Bones Show Through His Clothing, Sparking Concern For His Health

Last week, RIIZE‘s Sohee caught people attention with just how thin his calves appeared in a gif that was posted online. At that time, while some netizens commented about being envious of his figure, others were already concerned about how skinny Sohee seems to be, especially given the group’s hectic and undoubtedly stressful schedule.

Now, however, another photo has been released that has fans even more concerned about Sohee’s seemingly low weight.

During recent promotions for the group’s latest title track, “Boom Boom Bass”, the members appeared in simple white tees and pleather pants that gave them a casual but chic look.

Sohee is known to be a picky eater, so given the probability that the members are on some kind of strict diet for their promotional schedule, fans are concerned that Sohee has lost weight recently and became even skinnier than he already was.

TWS' alleged stylist accused of making sexual comments about group & Seventeen members

On July 9, a social media user made public a tweet that included audio footage of TWS member Dohoon and sexually suggestive remarks about him. A woman who is purported to be TWS's stylist is heard making explicit remarks about the members on the recording. "Kim Dohoon, seriously," she says. I wanted to suck on Kim Dohoon's adam's apple when I heard someone today say they wanted to put their nose on Shinyu's rhino horn. I'm stroking Kim Dohoon's muscles while sucking on his Adam's apple."

The original poster also included a text message from the purported stylist that said, "Hey, your boobs are bigger than mine," in reference to a member's chest. "I believe milk will emerge from those breasts," along with other offensive remarks. It is also stated that the stylist stole merchandise intended for TWS fans. She snaps a picture of some little plush toys in the screenshot below and writes, "All right, putting these in my sleeves. Let's acquire it.

The poster claimed on July 10 that the stylist had also said dubious things regarding Seventeen. They claimed, "She added that she wanted to **** Dohoon's anus and that Dohoon and Shinyu ought to start a football team and have kids together. She continued by saying that the Seventeen members had so many children that they could all play football together. She also addressed me with sexual remarks. Sexual harassment is all that this person deals with on a daily basis."

SM Entertainment also shared that even though Haechan had immediately gone to the hospital for treatment, because it was the weekend, he would have to wait until Monday for a more thorough examination and diagnosis.

The agency’s full statement is as follows:

"Hello.

He immediately went to the hospital to receive treatment, but his pain has continued, and it is currently difficult for him to move. Because it is the weekend, he is scheduled to undergo a thorough examination this coming Monday.

"As there are concerns that he might suffer a greater injury if he continues with his schedule, Haechan will inevitably be unable to participate in the 2023 NCT DREAM 7th anniversary fan meeting “DREAM LAND” that will take place today (July 22).

"Furthermore, because it has been determined that it would be best for Haechan to minimize movement for the sake of his physical condition, he will also not be attending SBS’s “Inkigayo” and the album fan signing event that are scheduled for July 23. We ask for fans’ generous understanding.

"We apologize for giving you cause for concern with this sudden news, and after his thorough examination and diagnosis this coming week, we will try to update you quickly on the state of Haechan’s health.

"Thank you."

Haechan On Nct Dream Wanting To Change Up Their Image, His Bandmates Helping Him Through Tough Times, And More

In an interview and pictorial for @star1 magazine, NCT’s Haechan opened up about his recent activities, how he’s changed since his debut, and more!

It’s been a busy couple of months for Haechan. Last month, he traveled to Japan with NCT 127 to kick off their dome tour with sold-out concerts at the Tokyo Dome and Nagoya’s Valentin Dome—then immediately flew back to Korea for NCT DREAM’s comeback with their new repackaged album “Beatbox.”

When asked about how it felt to finally return to performing abroad for the first time in several years, Haechan revealed that he had been so thrilled, it hadn’t felt real at first. “Even when I went to board the plane, it still hadn’t kicked in yet, and it even felt a bit awkward,” he recalled. “The fact that I was able to hold a concert and meet our fans—just that in and of itself made me happy.”

As for NCT DREAM’s latest round of promotions for “Beatbox,” Haechan remarked, “It’s a song that all the NCT DREAM members liked, so we were able to promote with confidence.”

He proudly went on to point out that Jisung had been the one to come up with the key dance move for the song’s choreography, noting, “Jisung personally came up with the idea for the key point choreography for ‘Beatbox’ himself. As his bandmate, I was grateful and proud.”

With Jisung turning 20 years old this year, all of the NCT DREAM members are now in their twenties, and Haechan shared that they’ve been talking about wanting to show a new, more mature side of the group.

“We’ve talked about how it feels like we’ve reached a time when we can now show an image transformation,” said Haechan.

“All the [NCT] DREAM members debuted when we were young, so people must have seen our youthful and inexpert side as cute,” he continued. “We’re now working even harder to prepare for each performance so that people can think, ‘Now they’re really going to show us something.”

When asked how he’d changed in the six years since his debut in 2016, Haechan replied, “My heart and mindset are the same as they were when I first debuted. But now I’m aware of what I can do well right now, as well as what the strengths of my current age are.”

He went on to elaborate, “I think there’s a specific coolness that 23-year-old Haechan can show.”

Meanwhile, if he had to praise himself for one thing, Haechan revealed, “I’d like to praise myself for not giving up even during difficult and exhausting times.”

Expressing his deep love and affection for his bandmates, he went on to share, “My fellow members are the driving force that made it possible for me to overcome those exhausting moments.”

Finally, when asked about his reputation as a talented “all-rounder,” Haechan conveyed his determination to keep working hard by declaring, “I shouldn’t fall short of people’s expectations.”

NCT DREAM is currently preparing to kick off their new “THE DREAM SHOW 2 : In A DREAM” tour with their first-ever dome concert in Seoul next month.

In the meantime, Haechan’s full interview and pictorial can be found in the July issue of @star1 magazine.

SM Entertainment Shares Update On Lawsuit Against Impersonators Stealing Artists' Private Information

SM Entertainment has shared an update regarding impersonators stealing private information from EXO and NCT members.

On July 11, SM Entertainment released the following statement via KWANGYA 119, through which fans can use to report issues related to SM artists with regards to defamation, copyright infringement, and more.

"Hello, this is SM Entertainment.

"We would like to inform you about the results of the lawsuit regarding the personal information theft of one EXO member and three NCT members, who are artists under our company.

"Regarding the incident in April 2023 where individuals impersonated delivery drivers during a live broadcast on X (Twitter) and stole the personal information of the artists, we collected substantial evidence through fan reports and our own monitoring. We appointed SHIN&KIM Law Firm (LLC) as our legal representative and filed a complaint for violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.

"In this incident, the accused impersonated delivery drivers during a live broadcast with many viewers, stole the artists’ addresses, and broadcasted this information, thereby committing a crime by exposing the artists’ personal information to the public. At that time, the police identified four individuals involved in the live broadcast as suspects and forwarded two of them to the prosecution with recommendations for indictment for directly calling the artists.

"In the trial that proceeded recently, the defendants admitted to all the charges, claiming they committed the crime out of fan love for the artists and pleaded for leniency. However, we inform you that the two defendants were each sentenced to a fine of 3 million won (approximately $2,200). We deeply appreciate the significant interest and valuable reports from fans that enabled us to take legal action against such illegal activities targeting our artists.

"Even now, acts of unauthorizedly obtaining and calling the artists’ phone numbers or visiting their homes have been ongoing for a long time. Although the artists have endured these intrusions because they are celebrities, they have reached a level that is difficult for an individual to handle, and they are suffering severe psychological distress. We reiterate that such acts are not expressions of interest in the artists but serious crimes that instill fear and cause psychological harm to them.

"Additionally, to protect our artists, we are continuously monitoring and taking legal action against such acts and any infringements on the artists’ rights and reputations, adhering to a principle of zero tolerance. We are awaiting the results of several ongoing lawsuits. We urge you to immediately cease any acts that invade the artists’ privacy and be careful not to get involved in any unfortunate incidents.

"Thank you."

Red Velvet's Seulgi Apologizes Following Controversy Over High Heel Incident

Red Velvet’s Seulgi has shared a personal apology following controversy over a recent incident at the airport.

On July 12, Red Velvet flew to Taiwan to perform at the K-Mega Concert in Kaohsiung.

When the group first arrived at Incheon International Airport for their flight to Taiwan, Seulgi was initially wearing a pair of sponsored high heels.

However, when the group arrived at Kaohsiung International Airport, some noticed that she had swapped shoes with a manager: Seulgi was now wearing a pair of sneakers, while her manager was wearing her high heels.

As the high heels seemed too big for the manager, Seulgi came under fire as some accused her of inconsiderately causing the manager physical discomfort for the sake of her own comfort.

On July 13, Seulgi took to Instagram Stories to personally apologize for the incident.

Her full post is as follows:

"I would like to apologize to my manager for yesterday’s incident at the airport and also for disappointing many people.

"At the time, I had recently developed blisters and wounds on my feet while practicing. But because the heels I wore at the airport [in Incheon] weren’t that high, I thought they’d be okay, so I carelessly failed to prepare a spare set of sneakers just in case.

"While walking, my feet shifted [inside the shoes], causing new wounds to gradually form, and when my manager saw that I was having a hard time walking after arriving in Kaohsiung, she thought that it might be difficult for me to perform later [if I kept wearing them], so she suggested that we swap shoes only until we left the airport.

"With my feet hurting, I was unable to think of another solution and made a poor decision in the moment, and I apologize to the people I must have disappointed. I also feel nothing but apologetic towards my manager, who must have been upset by this incident.

"I have personally apologized to my manager, and I will be even more cautious and take care so that this kind of incident does not happen in the future."
